The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, categorically accused the Nigeria government of deliberately refusing to allow him attain proper medical treated because they want to release him at a fatal stage.
Nnamdi Kanu while answering questions from journalists at the end of proceedings today, March 19, 2024, at the Federal High Court, Abuja, did not mince words. Hear him:
“The Nigeria government has no case against me and they know it. Ask the Nigeria government, where is the treason charges? The are keeping me here because they know the lump in my armpit is growing and getting worse. They want my sickness to get worse, then they will release me to go and die outside. They will claim that I didn’t die in their hands. That is what they are doing.”
It is a well reported case that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is severely sick. After several consultation from Department of State Services, DSS, medical team, it became obvious that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu requires a non-custodial medical treatment from better equipped medical facility and experts. There is a court order mandating that he be given access to a better medical team, but Nigeria government is playing a dangerous game with his health. It is not going to end well for Nigeria for a man like Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to die in DSS dungeon or die upon release due to sickness poorly treated while in detention.
