MEDIA REJOINDER
Issued by IPOB Directorate of Media and Publicity

IPOB PRESS RELEASE
26th July 2025.

IMO POLICE COMMISSIONER MUST RETRACT MALICIOUS LIES OR FACE LEGAL CONSEQUENCES-IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is giving Mr. Danjuma Aboki, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State, seven days to withdraw and publicly apologise for his defamatory and baseless statement alleging IPOB’s involvement in the recent killings in Mbano, Imo State. This disgraceful falsehood, already circulated in the media, represents a vile attempt to criminalise IPOB and mislead the public.

We state categorically that IPOB is not involved in any such violence. Mr. Aboki’s actions are defamatory, inciteful, and malicious. They violate the presumption of innocence and are part of a broader propaganda campaign to derail our peaceful advocacy.

If he fails to retract these lies within 7 days, IPOB will drag him to court and hold him personally liable for reputational damage and criminal defamation under Nigerian law.

We will not tolerate further slander or scapegoating. The blood of our people must not be used to sanitise failed security operations and political incompetence.

COMRADE EMMA POWERFUL SPOKESPERSON/MEDIA AND PUBLICITY SECRETARY FOR IPOB.
