It is no longer news that Ọhaneze Ndị Igbo has requested 10 trillion naira compensation for what Ndị́ Igbo suffered in the hands of the North and Yoruba over the tagging of the 1966 coup as the ‘Igbo Coup’.

It is very unfortunate that in the midst of the suffering, death, and psychological trauma suffered by Ndị́ Igbo, all Ọhaneze ndị Igbo could do was monetise the whole thing. What is 10 trillion? What is it compared to those who died during the pogrom, the war that followed and the marginalisation till today? Buhari, for 8 years, removed the Igbo people from the infrastructural projects, and Ọhaneze kept quiet. Tinubu has done the same thing, and Ọhaneze is also mute. Ohanaeze should have been more like a pressure group defending the interest of Ndị Igbo, but they are not. Rather, Ọhaneze is a conglomerate of retired and tired politicians who, after looting the country dry, have assembled in Ọhaneze to continue the looting.

What is Ọhaneze saying about the insecurity in the South East? Nothing. What are they doing about the neglect from South East governors, the Fulani herdsmen terrorist attacks that have massacred lots of Ndị́ Igbo? Completely nothing. We have leaders in the South East who are always eager to please the Nigerian establishment at the detriment of their people. Leaders selected by the Fulani and Yoruba. And they have no option but to protect the interest of the Fulani.

Ọhaneze is a disgrace. They should be resisted. They must be regarded as nothing in Igbo land and we can do that. Since they have decided to be selfish even to their ancestors, we will keep disrespecting them. What is Ohanaeze doing and saying about the freedom of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? Has the court not released him? Why can’t they talk tough? Because it will stop the donations from the government.

Ọhaneze is just a tool of control for the government. It is the more you look the less you see stuff. A serious group would have taken Nigeria to court and demanded compensation through the court in the South East. But all they want is to bargain with President Tinubu, get money from him and serve him till his tenure ends.

Shame on the shameless Ọhaneze. Shame on you all.
