UPDATE ON TODAY'S VISIT TO OUR INDEFATIGABLE CLIENT – ONYENDU MAZI NNAMDI KANU – AT THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE SERVICES (DSS), ABUJA, WHERE HE IS BEING ILLEGALLY AND UNCONSTITUTIONALLY DETAINED IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT:

We visited our indefatigable Client – Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu – today, the 27th day of March 2023, at the DSS Headquarters, Abuja, to provide him with updates on the status of our pending appeals, other compelling legal matters, and fundamentally, to ascertain his present health condition.

Onyendu was also briefed on today’s reaction of the GTI (Global Terrorism Index), as a direct impact of the legal interventions undertaken by the IPOB Leadership, to compel the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), to immediately retract and tender unreserved apology for their offensive, mischievous and false labelling of the IPOB in the recent terrorism index; and the position of the matter in the Australian court. He commended the DOS for their proactiveness, even as he implores the foreign lawyer engaged by the noble Movement to ensure that the GTI and IEP pays heavily in damages for this defamatory/libelous labelling.

Asides Onyendu’s underlying medical condition, which has defied the amateur DSS medical solutions, Onyendu complained about the persistent heart burn, heart palpitation, and tinnitus ear infection which the DSS doctors also recently diagnosed, and which medical condition will require surgery.

Other professional briefings on purely legal undertakings and expectations on various court engagements will remain private.

Efforts have been intensified through our multifarious legal actions to ensure that those still being held illegally in various detention facilities of the Government of Nigeria, shall regain their freedom soon. We are not resting on our oars. Details shall remain private.

Onyendu thanked you all, Ezigbo UmuChineke, for your unwavering solidarity and relentless prayers. He implored Ezigbo UmuChineke to remain focused, undistracted and to always abide by your peaceful conduct as you have always done.

Thank you all, Ezigbo UmuChineke, and remain blessed.

We move!

Signed:
Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq. (KSC)
IPOB's Lead Counsel
27th March, 2023.
